'' Ligational behavior of some benzimidazole moiety containing compounds towards some transition metal ions ''.
Summary
This work has been carried out to investigate the structure and ligational behavior of some newly prepared 1H-benzimidazole, 2-methanamine, N-aryl derivatives towards Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) ions. Ionization constants for the ionizable protons of the ligands were determined spectrophotometrically and pH-metrically. The stoichiometric ratios of the complexes in solution were also investigated using conductometric titration technique. The activation thermodynamic parameters, such as, E*, DH*, DS* and DG* are calculated from the TGA curves using Coats-Redfern method. The synthesized ligands, in comparison to their metal complexes also were screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activity.
